Chermin is a self-reflection of a young man who succumbs to depression. Pak Yek is a graduate from a local university who fails to secure any jobs after graduation. Depressed and pressured by the social stigma and personal expectation, he commits snatch theft. He is caught by the authorities for his crime.
Chermin is an experimental theater by Arshad Adam and Surnia Fizul where they try to unearth the decision made by Pak Yek. Performed by Han Zalini and Omar Yunus. Chermin — as suggested by the name, presents 2 different views that reflect the story of Pak Yek.
Revolution Stage was incepted in 2006 by Khairunazwan Rodzy. It was a group established for performing arts students to organise shows especially stage performances outside of their universities/colleges. It was then joined by performing arts students from diverse background such as ASWARA, UiTM, UM, USM and etc.
Upon realizing the group’s potential, Khairunazwan Rodzy registered it as a company. Its first production was Eksperimental Merdeka in 2006, held in MATIC. Over the past years, Revolution Stage has produced around 20 stage performances; SudirMania, SuperHero The Musical, Ramleefestasi, Asrama-RA AllStars just to name a few and has developed its repertoire to producing books, organising theatre workshops. Currently, Revolution Stage is dabbling in social business in getting the underprivileged to benefit from theatre.
